Development Update: Units And Steam Announcement!


Hello again expanse runners! I have very exciting news! First and foremost I have begun the process to launch the game on steam as well. This version will be priced the same as on itch, and will effectively be identical to the donation-only build albeit without the need to port-forward and with steam achievments! Not a fan of DRM? Anyone who purchases the game on itch will receive a steam key, allowing you to decide the best way for you to play!

Going back to discussing development, I have two new units to show off today! These two units will be locked behind the donation only/steam version for the time being in order to satisfy the agreements with steam terms.

Shaman:

The Shaman is an extremely interesting unit that is unique in his effect on the battlefield. Bolstering a single target heal that will regenerate 55% of a teamates HP allows him to alleviate some of the burst damage you may encounter. Furthermore this ability can be turned on enemies to permanently debuff their defence stat by 10! This makes the shaman a hybrid of offense and defence and allows it to act as a very high utility support.

Abomination:

My personal favourite unit so far! The abomination is an extremely offensively geared unit. Starting with high attack and average defensive stats, it can easily take out some of the squishier enemies.  However it has a special passive allowing its stats (AND SIZE!) to grow dramatically after every kill! The Abomination is meant to feel somewhat like a carry-type character from MOBA's, where when you invest in it and get it off, the momentum will be able to snowball harder than the other units.
